I speak with people everyday about their finances. You would be amazed, or perhaps not, how they don't understand compound interest.

They have said a 2% difference per year doesn't matter, but when I show them the results, they are shocked!

I have also seen them struggle when asking them what is 5% of their pay. I often have to do the math for them. It's sad.
